Guard from the underground -- Isang V-Movie mula kay Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Hay. Sayang.
Leave Me Alone -- Iyong double bill ng Pang Brothers, iyong isa eh iyong Ab-Normal Beauty. Maganda iyong Ab-Normal Beauty.
Kasi more often than not, ala silang subtitles.
Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 -- Debuting in a number of small roles for Nikkatsu under her real name of Masako Ota, the elegant Meiko Kaji first caught the eye of the Japanese public when she took the star role as the leader of a vicious gang of female bikers with five films in the Stray Cat Rock series that ran from 1969 to 1971 (kicking off with Stray Cat Rock: Female Boss / Noraneko Rokku: Onna Bancho, helmed by the director of the flamboyant Black Tight Killers, Yasuharu Hasebe).
Danger has Two Faces -- Martial art film standout Liang Chia-jen brings the same animalistic intensity from his early heroic bloodshed films to his Danger Has Two Faces tough, ex-cop character now relegated to becoming a pet store owner. The stern Police Superintendent Liu played by Chu Chiang sets the stage for his later role in John Woo's The Killer while new comer Fei Hsiang must do Serpico-like things to find out which cop is paid for by the mob.
Stolen Kisses -- The episodic romantic comedy Stolen Kisses is the third installment in François Truffaut's Antoine Doinel series, which started with The 400 Blows in 1959. In 1968, Antoine (Jean-Pierre Léaud) is discharged from the military and comes home to Paris, getting an apartment in Montmartre with an excellent view of the Sacré-Coeur.
Springtime -- The Chusok holidays are when family-oriented films tend to dominate local theaters, and this year looks to be no different. Putting in its bid for the Chusok crown is "Kkotpinun Pomi Omyon (Springtime)," a sentimental melodrama about music and love.
Hypnotized (aka Faceless Bauty) -- Why is Suk-won so obsessed with Ji-su? He also has a wounded heart because his wife died after having An Affair with a colleague. In other words, his past relationships have already been shattered, and the encounter with Ji-su, who was similarly hurt, seems to fuel his unrepressible desire.
The Cranes Are Flying -- Based on a play by V. Rusov, the Russian The Cranes are Flying is a love story set during the early years of World War II. Widowed by the war, Tatyana Samoylova reluctantly allows herself to be seduced by her late husband's cousin. Feeling nothing towards her seducer, she agrees to marry him, hoping that he'll be a surrogate for her fallen husband.
Iden & Tity -- Coming from a punk music background - he was the singer of the band Bachikaburi - he was involved in experimental theatre before teaming up with Shinya Tsukamoto for Tetsuo: The Iron Man, playing the mutating salaryman in the film that kickstarted the careers of both actor and director. Fourteen years and an uncountable number of films later, Taguchi made the decision to step behind the camera to adapt his close friend Jun Miura's manga Iden & Tity.
