Biscotti for breakfast

Am having chocolate biscotti my sis made with peppermint tea today. It's delish. She's been baking and cooking to use up our two bags of walnuts from my mum, which are this close to going rancid. My sis has been making oatmeal-walnut cookies, cinnamon-walnut biscotti, and chocolate-walnut biscotti. Cool, eh? I on the other hand dunno how to bake. My specialty is frying food. ;) But I bet if I put my mind to it I could cook decent stuff too. I can make a better version of the tuna Sagada rice they serve at the Shamrock Cafe in, you know, Sagada. But of course that's nothing.

Celebrity Skin by HoleEncomium: A Tribute to Led ZeppelinNo Doubt's The Singles: 1992-2003

Wait, you meant Linda Perry when you said her last album was a fiasco, right? Cos this is Courtney's first solo album. I had grave misgivings about the title "America's Sweetheart"; it's trying to be sarcastic and cute, but that was kinda the title of this corny Hollywood movie, for god's sake. Am not buying the album. Thought Hole's "Celebrity Skin" was great, though. But I liked 4 Non Blondes' cover of Led Zep's Misty Mountain Hop. I have the tape.

I watched the Oscars last night on Star Movies. That Jack Black (School of Rock) and Will Ferrell (Elf) intro was hilarious. They were saying the orchestra music played to cut off the winners' long thank you speeches actually had lyrics. Then they sang it together. Some lines: "You're boring", "You don't have to thank your parakeet", "Look at Catherine Zeta-Jones, she's snoring", "We're about to play a commercial of Del Taco", or something to that effect.

Was reading this Guardian feature on Gwen Stefani yesterday and was yearning again to get my hands on No Doubt's best of CD. Am such a consumerist! Oh, and my grade school classmate was saying I should join the mini-reunions, that I forgot about them already. Damn right! I don't really see myself going to the reunions. Many of them have kids now or are single moms. I wonder though if anyone turned out a bit like me. I mean, stick me in a room of coƱos who are marketing, accountant, whatever, just straight humorless generic types, whose idea of rebellion is drinking too much or getting pregnant, what would happen? I think I'd die.
