Butcher Boy was one of the great books I have read. I rank it alongside the pentalogy of books that I have written below. LAST 5 BOOKS READ: Lately, hindi ako nakapagbasa ng mga books. As in an entire book (as Allan would know by now, puro mga anthologies/collections ang mga pinagbibibili ko. So, after finishing a story which piqued my interest, I put it down and then move on to another. Pero most likely, babalikan ko din naman iyong mga iyon at a later time). Pero, I'll put the stories here and where they appeared:
Action, Illinois by Mary Gaitskill (mula Sa High Risk na Anthology)
Tiny, Smiling Daddy (mula sa Tasting Life Twice na anthology ng mga lesbianang writers... na inaacknowledge nila na dati ay pangit sumulat ang mga lesbiana)
Faithless... Tales of Transgression ni Joyce Carol Oates pa rin (matatapos ko na, pero favorite ko dito iyong The Ugly Girl)
The Best American Mystery Stories 2001(The Girl With the Blackened Eye), and 2003 (The Skull)
Zombie ni Joyce Carol Oates - Nag-umpisa ang paghanga ko kay Joyce Carol Oates nung nabasa ko ang "Extenuating Circumstances" niya na lumabas sa isang mystery anthology nung first year college ako (sa Sisters in Crime 5 ata iyon)
Frisk ni Dennis Cooper- nung una ko itong nabasa, asar na asar ako. Kasi, I was expecting full gore from start to finish. Although, meron naman. Kaya lang iyong last chapter kasi ang nakapanira ng book reading experience ko dito. Ok, the main character killed kids in Germany with two dutch guys (ang mas nakakadiring description dito eh, gusto daw nilang bata ang pinapatay kasi daw malambot pa ang ebs or something to that effect), tapos itong episode pala nila ng kids-killing eh isa lang palang dream sequence? Paksiyet! Hindi ko tuloy siya mairekomenda! Pero, kaya ko rin siya gusto kasi isa siyang outsider sa LGBT community although Dennis Cooper is gay, he doesn't want to be identified with them.
American Psycho ni Bret Easton Ellis- Eto ang unang librong pumukaw sa aking consciousness na Serial Killers need not be psychotic (or presumably psychotic). Kasi Patrick Bateman is the quintessential metrosexual (did I just write that?), who exudes an aura of good naturedness. Although, galit ako sa mga metrosexuals (who isn't?), siya pa rin ang nagpoprove na good manners are terrible! (I know, whatever!?)
The End of Alice ni A.M. Homes - From what I remember, hindi gaanong nagustuhan ni Ms. L ang End of Alice. Ang premise ng Alice is deceptively simple. A girl writes to a convicted serial killer-pedophile (at siyempre, kaya siya napasulat dun ay dahil the convicter serial killer pedophile holds some sense of fascination to the girl. Who in turn has become like her object of fascination... story's a bit hazy now, tagal ko nang nabasa kasi. Pero, if I remember it correctly, she raped a boy?).
Exquisite Corpse ni Poppy Z. Brite - What has not been written about Ms. Brite? Well, ang naging very clear sa akin kaya naging popular si Ms. Brite eh dahil sa kanyang unflinching desire to unnerve her readers (although, I read this book with glee! Yes! Gory murders abound, but the language was especially fluid for a book in this genre. And yes, you do not have to be some highfalutin writer to pull it off! I recommend this to everyone! Me mga shoray moments, but nothing's perfect kaya ok lang iyon!

Chika lang gaga. Alam ko namang nasa sa iyo. Tapusin mo, it only gets better (kung gusto mo, ipahiram ko ulit ang Frisk ni Dennis Cooper to complete the package! haha!). :)
