Kewl art and band photos
Late last year I stumbled upon this site of photographer Autumn de Wilde. She did Elliott Smith's "Son of Sam" video (the b&w one where he's in a dark suit walking around and following a balloon) and designed the cover of his Figure 8 CD. She's also photographed other bands like weezer, Death Cab for Cutie, Beck, and Pavement. Kewl, eh? Check out her eye candy album covers... makes me wish I'd borrowed some of her ideas while designing my desktop wallpapers. I have 30 at home now, would you believe that? I print them to scale and post 6 at a time on my bedroom wall (in 6 plastic poster cases) and just change them every once in a while. Pantanggal ng stress sa trabaho.
BTW Joel, remember you said you got to talk to photographer Floria Sigismondi before? She directed this Interpol video ("Obstacle 1") that I love from their debut album, Turn on the Bright Lights. It's pretty tame by her standards, I think, but it still has her stamp. Check it out here.
Now if only I'd find the time to write. Malapit na ang Palanggana awards na naman, people. The deadline's in a little more than two months. May mga kinakarir na ba kayo para sa contest na yan?
