Allan, just wanna ask you, tungkol saan ba yung winning entry mo na full-length play? What's the title? Could you email it to me? For research purposes po, para malaman ko kung anong play ba ang type ng judges ng Palanca. Also, di ba edgy/unconventional/propagandist ang drama natin? Square and conventional ba ang na-submit mo or your usual play na uncompromising? Sino ba yung judges na nag-champion sa yo sa full-length play this year?

My friend who works there said Adrian Cristobal took Nick Joaquin's place. But you can just say "The Literary Editor." Their snail addy is Dominga Bldg. III, 2113 Chino Roces cor. De La Rosa St., Makati City. I wasn't notified that they'd publish my story; they're kinda unprofessional in that respect so bantayan mo na lang yung issues nila or call them at 867 1135 / 819 1217 to confirm. Maybe you can put a note in your letter that your story's an English translation from the original Filipino.
Right now I can't think of how to translate "Hymen ng Isang Pagkalaki-laking Lalaki." ;)
Joel, nagpunta ako ng Quiapo with my sis last Sunday and got the films I missed at the theater: Hellboy, Shrek 2, Peter Pan, Pitch Black (prequel daw ng Riddick at magandang story according to Salon; premise is good naman); greatest hits vids by REM, Chili Peppers, No Doubt; Sex and the City seasons one and two (wala akong nakitang Six Feet Under na second season, sayang, meron na kasi ako nung first). Also got Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (which we saw at Mega last Saturday); clear copy naman pero no special features, kasi sa Sept. 28 pa pala ang labas ng orig DVD said Amazon.
Anyway hindi ako nakakita ng Triplets of Belleville. Saan mo ba nakita? Could you get me a DVD copy next time you see one? Kasi kahit without subtitles it's very easy to understand. It's animated and all. We saw it at Mega before without subtitles; it used minimal dialogue anyway. Ay nakakaasar pala, bumili kami ng Fanfan la Tulipe pero no English subtitles. Nyar. Di ko talaga type sanang bilhin pero gusto ng ate ko eh.

Last time na nagpunta ako ng Quiapo, dadalawa lang ang binili ko (Une Noveau Rousse, or ang english title na: Tycoon isang Russian movie na syemps ay french release), tapos ito ngang Shaun of the Dead. I've put off buying it for the longest time kasi mukhang sine copy pa lang ang meron sa kanila (although merong menu ng movie...tangina talaga hindi ko maintindihan itong mga pirata natin) ng makakita ako ng clear copy (this one is the best one of lot...well, sa mga nakita ko ha) binili ko na lang. Maganda ang Shaun of the Dead, it puts to shame a lot of recent comedies. Nakakatawa talaga siya. Tapos, oh well, poorita ako ngayon kaya hindi ako gaanong nakabili ng mga dvds. Although, iyon ngang aking mga katrade eh nagpadala na ng kopya ng Dawn of the Dead (2 disc set, Director's Cut at ang European/Argento cut) tapos iyong Lady Snowblood 1&2. Ok naman. Bongga ang part 1 ng Lady, hindi ko pa rin napapanood ang part 2. At iyong Belleville ay nakita ko lang sa mga bangketa, although a word of caution, kasi lately iyong mga nabebenta nila ay bugok (meaning: tumatalon or naghahang, at ang nakakainis nangyayari ito sa last ten minutes ng pelikula).
