Joel: Gaga, mangcha-chaka ka lang, mali pa. Mathieu didn't direct Amelie, Jean Pierre Jeunet did. I'd like to think na rumaraket lang sya when he did Gothika. ;) Yeah, I know he's been hit and miss lately, but the noteworthy films he directed, so I've heard, are Assassin(s), La Haine, and Metisse. I only saw the last film, and I liked it. And although he's a Renaissance man (director, actor, writer, producer, model), he's allowed to make a few mistakes, just like the rest of us.

Last Friday we saw the third Harry Potter film. My god, it was beautiful. Really evocative imagery. It was funnier, scarier, and free of cheesy moments. That hack Chris Columbus was put to shame. I wish Alfonso Cuaron would direct the filming of book five, which was also great. But Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my fave of the books to date. With good reason, bitchy Salon finally praised Harry Potter on film.
