B O L L O C K S !
I find myself saying that, both aloud and in my head, a lot lately. For example:
1. Whenever the fragile DVD player at home malfunctions. (Slip in a 2nd disc right after playing one and it refuses to play, as sure as the sun rises. Bollocks, right? So no go to any planned DVD marathons.)
2. When my colored ink jet printer here at work doesn't indicate that it's low on ink, even though it obviously is, leaving a blank white space where yellow should be. The other colors are fine, though.)
And a number of other reasons. Man, all the Brit lit I've been reading has been showing in my language!
Know what? Last Saturday we parted ways when I got on that UE Letre Bus in Buendia, right? It takes ages for buses to get anywhere. Am used to trains and FX cabs, whose drivers usually take short-cuts since they have to make the most of their time, probably cos of their boundary.
Anyway, I was sitting next to this girl in the bus, probably my age or younger, and she asked me where Dagupan was. I said I didn't know, but realized after a while she meant the bus station. So I said it's in Cubao, and she didn't know where that was, or any of the pasikot-sikot in the metropolis. It wouldn't help to tell her there wasn't much pasikot-sikot with EDSA, since it pretty much just goes straight, so I told her I'd just tell her where to get off.
You should never ask me for directions, right? Cos I usually lose my way just like that. But I guess it was Bayani Fernando's fault this time. All these goddamn nasty Dunkin Donut-colored footbridges and all that. And these huge nasty pink signs on the islands saying Bawal Tumawid, Nakamamatay.
I told the girl to get down at the Farmers overpass, cos at least it's safe, cos the stoplights were bound to have been removed and pedestrians couldn't cross at Cubao Ibabaw anymore. Turns out I unintentionally caused her to take a considerable hike. The bus stations are a bit far from Farmers. I should've told her to get down at the overpass near the Baliwag bus station instead. Eek! That was Saturday and it's Tuesday now, and I'm still reminded of it. Guilty me.
