So? What's next?
(this is how the PNRC feels like right now.)
I resigned from the Red Cross already. Which is a good thing, if you ask me. I complained a lot while I was there, I mean one is not exactly surrounded by the most professional individuals. In fact, everyone is professional except for the higher ups which is a pity. You get to meetings, and you're so bored because you know nothing gets resolved anyway. I didn't release anything in the past two or three weeks, and I never tell anyone about that. It's not because I wanted it (well, a part of me did) but because I just had to attend to office matters such as the repair of a certain pick-up(yeah, kill me). Yeah, I'm working for three idiots (well, you can say that the Chairman is only half an idiot because he's not always there), The Chairman, Secretary General, and the Assistant Secretary General (which means squat in my dictionary). And then you also have the idiot bosses from the other departments;CHNS, IHL, and HR. It really breaks my heart that these idiots can actually have positions and are gathered in a single place. To add to that, we also have moron-underlings such as Pokwang (yeah, she was my previous Comm-Assistant, but who the hell cares, she's stupid anyway), and Lechon (oh, you don't know him? One word: Psoriasis), and score of others. So, am I bitter? No. Uhmm... A bit, I actually wanted to work longer than I should have but these things, these personalities preclude me from altogether doing my job. So, the most logical thing to do when you're not happy is to leave (heave sigh of relief here). Weirdly, I didn't become a bitch in the Red Cross, because I bitch around with my friends. The only thing, I think, that I was thinking of is that this phase is the Atonement phase. What am I atoning? Don't ask. I just feel the need to atone, so the next time around I can really be maleficent and I won't have to think twice since I paid my dues (even before the deed). So, that's that. Oh yeah, I will be visiting a week or two from now just to see how they're doing.
While I was so bored with my previous job (which I hope won't happen with my new one), I downloaded a lot of songs from Epitonic.com. Which is, apparently, the source for cutting edge music. Honestly, there are a lot of good bands and singers-songwriters who haven't had a lot of exposure. My new finds were: Black Box Recorder, Arab Strap, Havergal, Anjali, Blonde Redhead, Nectarine No. 9, Guillermo Gregorio, Pedro the Lion, Roni Size (well, everyone knows Roni Size. Ok Roni, off you go), Michael J. Sheehy, Arab on Radar, Vandermark 5, Migala, and Sappington. I think I have more artists on the CDs I burned, but I don't exactly put the track titles and numbers on the CDs themselves. I try to make the listening activity an experience so I'm not letting my completist attitude get in the way and know the performers. I think at this point, it's enough for me to know I like the songs. Weird, huh? Why not visit the Url now?
A week ago, I had a story workshopped (The Mathematician, which can't be found anywhere yet since I haven't edited it.... Which is a shame, because I wanted it to be part of ANOTHER workshop) and the reviews were downright depressing. It's not because the story was depressing, but the crafting was a bit haphazard. Oops... I don't want to make an issue out of my personal circumstance, but it did contribute a lot. I never had crying spells, but I was always on the verge of going nuts blaming myself for being sooo stupid. Now that I'm not part of you know what, I hope my next project is better. It must be better. I'm researching as of yet. And pseudo-writers still annoy the hell out of me, those who haven't written anything since high school but they still think they're the savior of Philippine Litt. And oh wait, those who write bad poetry (geez, I don't want to sound like an authority on something, but let's keep bad poetry to ourselves for now).
I've finished reading Patricia Highsmith's The Blunderer. It was an ok read, but it seems to lack a certain sinisterness which I am always on the look out for (but it started greatly). I'm reading Mickey Spillane's First Trilogy, since I don't feel the need to wring someone else's neck every other hour on the hour, I hope I finish this next week. I actually saw one of the films (Kiss Me, Deadly) from Spillane's novel, and yeah, I liked it. A lot. Very much. Thank you. I hope to get the novel for that particular film.
I didn't get to see a movie for the past few weeks. I just saw... Oh shit! I almost forgot, I watched Steve Carell's The Office and it reminded me a lot about the place I'm working. Idiot bosses, idiot coworkers, except their office looks spiffy. Which is the complete opposite of my office. Mine looks very... condemned? It's a place for roaches, mini roaches, and rodents. The annoying part? Even the boardroom has roaches! And the boardroom is supposedly for the VIPs!?
Romances? Uhm... As much as I'd like to have one (really, I do. It's not that I always think of romance as getting in somebody else's pants), no one's available. Unless, they tell me they are and by then I've lost interest. However, if I can get in to your pants, then yeah, let's have a go at it (don't believe me here).
Am I still up for adoption? Yes. Just send me an e-mail so we can negotiate the terms of my adoption. ;P
