Oi pseudo Bjelland, kung hindi lang kita kaibigan matagal na siguro kitang nasapak. I don't get you sometimes. You used to borrow my Hole CDs for months at a time, and here you are now slamming Courtney. And what you said about Courtney Love riding on Kurt's death was uncalled for. She will always be associated with Kurt; she was married to him and will always be a part of him. All the cheap shots in the world about it deserve to be laughed at because of this.
Your constant Courtney swipes make me feel obliged to share my opinion on Kat Bjelland. IMHO, she's like a blank sheet of paper. She never made an impression on me. The themes/lyrics in their songs strike me as amateurish, immature, grating, and mediocre. Courtney may be known for many things, among them losing custody of her child, her drug battles, her marriage to Kurt. Kurt was an intelligent though troubled musician; he chose Courtney and that's that. They had their life together, things happened between them that the rest of us will never know about, and all the flak in the world won't change that.
Despite all her problems, Courtney's also made a huge difference. To name a few, she'll be remembered for breaking barriers in music, and for that excellent essay she wrote in Salon on music piracy. Who'll remember Kat Bjelland? Barely anyone. And snow and money would probably fall from the sky down on Manila before Kat Bjelland would've published anything of the same merit, in Salon or elsewhere.
I've always said na kanya-kanya lang yan. Some people like certain things, others don't. I've held my tongue prior to this. But it's another matter when someone actively and repeatedly slams someone they know you respect. Sure, am not really into her music as a solo artist cos I've grown up and like all sorts of music now, but I know that essentially Courtney's a brave, talented (if troubled) woman with a sharp mind. And if you think it bores anyone to death when Courtney's name is mentioned, why keep bringing up her name? You're the one who started it.
As to Crawford being known as a gay icon, hello, she is. Of course she's many other things too. For instance, she was known to be one of the first who portrayed working women as champions onscreen, which is good. But even my sis knows Crawford's a gay icon. Google up Crawford's name and invariably the phrase "gay icon" would pop up. It's called free association. And about your comment (However, why didn't you make the association with horror movies), my answer would be, Why should I? Am not interested in your brand of horror films. I was mildly curious about Crawford for a while, so I just posted some questions. Splatter or horror films? No thanks. They're like clouds in the sky, they've nothing to do with me.
To Bb. Bargayo, thank you for preventing yet another slew of splatter photos to be posted on our sidebar. The ones there right now are welcome for a week, but I hope the rest of us can also post photos there that we like.
To sum it up, hindi ako nang-aaway. Just venting a bit. The circumstances certainly call for it.
